The inspection reports of Cox's Brigade are unfortunately not very detailed and their inspector did not choose to offer his thoughts in the "remarks" section provided. The brigade was detached from the division in February 1865, and no report has survived for that month.

Discipline: "Good" on all reports.
Drill: "Well" on all reports.
Police of camp or post: In November "thorough", in December "The men are now building their cabins, and the
camps have not yet been policed."
Inspector's Comments
December:
About 450 rails destroyed near New Market, Va. Impossible to tell who did it. Not settled.
